about the augustA gem & mineral society (AGAMS)

OUR STORY

The Augusta Gem & Mineral Society (AGAMS) was founded to bring together people who share a love of rocks, minerals, fossils, and the lapidary arts. What began as a small group of collectors and hobbyists has grown into a welcoming, multigenerational community dedicated to learning, exploration, and earth science education.

For decades, AGAMS has served the August area through monthly meetings, field trips, demonstrations, and community outreach. Our members include beginners, families, educators, seasoned collectors, and lapidary artists – all connected by a shared sense of wonder.
